Stephanie Metz is a sculptor whose innovative work in felted wool has garnered international attention. Her sculpture, focused on the relationship between humans and the natural world, fuses sharp wit, thoughtful observation, and careful craftsmanship in an unusual material to blur the line between art and science, natural and unnatural, organic and man-made.
Stephanie’s artwork has been shown in venues in San Francisco, New York, and Stockholm, and is held in numerous private collections. Her work has been included in national and international art and design magazines including Craft Magazine, Zink, Object Magazine (Australia), Showroom (Russia), Gallery (Ukraine), Felt Matters (UK), Icon Magazine (UK), ArtWeek, and countless blogs.
Stephanie received her BFA from the University of Oregon and now lives, works, and teaches in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work can be found at Hosfelt Gallery in San Francisco and New York.
