Prop "
bronze
"
bull statue for independent film
Jacks, directed by Jesse Lawler and produced by Crazy Emerg
enzy Productions
, now hitting film festivals near you.
Screenplay called for a prop statue of a bronze fraternity mascot bull that would be stolen and desecrated by the protagonists.  It was required that the statue look convincingly like aged bronze, be lightweight, inexpensive, substantial, and able to assume two poses
-
- standing and kneeling.  I took the project from concept drawings through clay model to the final bull, carved out of polystyrene (
Styrofoam
)
, coated with plaster, and painted to look like bronze.  To achieve the two poses necessary for the storyline I created two sets of interchangeable front lower legs.
